Wikiocity:Privacy policy

We strongly believe that each of our users has a right to maintain their privacy. Wikiocity does not use spy-ware, ad-ware, pop-up ads, spam or other annoying or intrusive advertising. We do not sell, rent, or exchange your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. Wikiocity has not yet developed a official privacy policy, but when it does it will probably be similar in spirit to the Wikipedia privacy policy.

The AddThis share button does collect some non-personally identifiable information on visitors. Mostly for functionality, but they do also use this for advertising purposes. Currently AddThis is one of the most popular sharing platforms out there, but we are always looking for better alternatives, so feel free to recommend any that might provide better privacy terms. You can read more about their privacy policy and opt-out of their tracking here AddThis Privacy Policy.

We use the CityGrid API for pulling extra information that our data might be missing, like hours, descriptions, and links. The visiting user's IP is sent with the request per CityGrid's requirements. We believe the trade off for being able to use their additive information is worth it.

We have Facebook login integration for ease of use, but have no desire to see your friends list, contact information, or to post on your wall without your permission. The feature is only included to give an easier way to login and register for the site.

Google Analytics is used for visitor analytics.

Google Adsense is used for advertising.

If you don't agree with any of the above information, don't use the site.
